Iris & Sol x Rosa Hesmondhalgh

Deborah at Iris & Sol and Rosa Hesmondhalgh have teamed up to launch the “Sunny Side Sweatshirt,” a heartwarming design that reminds us to keep looking on the bright side when things get dark.

No Shade on The Sunny Side

Rosa, known by many for her role as Rae in Bridgerton, is an ovarian cancer survivor and advocate. She has been a beacon of hope with her powerful one-woman show, Madame Ovary, that gives a raw and honest perspective on her journey. Voices like hers are vital in our fight against cancer. 

Deborah at Iris & Sol, who has also faced personal battles with loved ones affected by cancer, was inspired by Rosa's story and many references to the egg pan emoji on her profile. Creativity struck when she associated that imagery with the notion of "sunny side up" - what a great perspective to latch on to when faced with difficult times! The association of the egg to ovarian cancer and the golden/yellow to childhood cancer, made for a simple yet impactful design:

In honor of September being both World Ovarian/Gynae Cancer Month and Childhood Cancer Month, we’re donating 10% of every purchase to cancer research. Specifically to:

• Ovarian Cancer Action
• CHEO through the Griffin Bell Golden Endowment Fund

Our goal was to raise $500 CAD by the end of the month, culminating in a donation on World Cancer Research Day, September 24. 💛

..... and we did it + then some!!
